About this idea

Create a weekly or monthly “coffee club” in one of the common areas of your building to help neighbours get to know one another in a casual setting. Have a designated coffee club meeting time to be sure neighbours can come to rely on it. To start, see if a few neighbours are willing to chip in $5 to pay for the supplies upfront, and then put out a jar with a suggested donation to recoup the cost from those that attend.

If there are no dedicated common areas in your building or neighbourhood, consider using another space such as the lobby, entryway or park. You could even partner with local cafes and meet up during their “slow” time to ensure there is enough space.
